What to Expect |
|
What can I expect? We meet in Alcoa High School’s Gym. Meeting in a gym is different but it’s the only room big enough for our worship services. Once you arrive on campus, you will see signs pointing the direction to the gym. The main parking area is directly in front of the gym. Expect to be greeted by normal, friendly people. We are glad you’re here and want someone at the front door to welcome you. Greeters will answer questions and point you in the direction to go. Once inside the gym doors, you will see a Café and Welcome Area. Workers at the Welcome Table or Café can answer questions. If you have children they will point you to the children's registration area. The café is a great place to get a drink or snack... but don't let the smell of muffins and espresso lure you into hanging out too long and being late to the worship time. Expect our Worship Service to start on time and last 65-70 minutes. After a 5-minute countdown showing exactly when we will begin, our worship band usually kicks off with music and singing. Our music is loud and for lack of a better word, "contemporary". We use media in the service. Messages are biblically based with the goal of hearing God speak to us which will make a difference in how we live. The atmosphere is casual…come as you are. Expect to feel comfortable. Not embarrassed. Not judged. Click Here to listen to recent messages from BCC We expect our guests to have a pleasant experience. We expect to have an encounter with the living God every time we meet as a church family. We expect to enjoy being the church. First Look (Newborns - Pre-K) First Look is a unique curriculum to teach and help engage preschoolers to learn about Jesus and the Bible. At BCC, we believe starting at an early age, children can learn about God and experience worship. When a preschooler arrives at our church, we begin activities to introduce the children to that day’s topic and help them feel welcome and comfortable in their classroom. Next, preschoolers take part in a large group time that includes a Bible story and worship. Each week our preschoolers are lead in worship by kids, yes, I said kids. They sing and dance and teach the children the motions as well as the words to each song and by doing this, teaching these children to openly express their love for who God is and to praise Him for all He has created. Then, we have the Bible story for the week acted out in a way that these children can understand by volunteers who love God. Once large group is over, the preschoolers return to their own classes where they do activities that will help them apply what they are learning. During this small group time, preschoolers begin to understand that they can talk to God at any time and in any place. Our goal is by the time preschoolers are ready to move on to Klub 252, our children’s ministry, they believe that God made them, God loves them and Jesus wants to be there friend forever. We strive to make sure these preschoolers have a strong foundation that will lead them to grow and mature in the love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus. Klub 252 (Kindergarten - 5th Grade) Kids Klub is a worship time for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Using the ReThink Klub 252 curriculum, aids our volunteers in teaching the truths of the Bible. Upon arrival, kids are welcomed into their small group class and participate in activities. Then they join together in large group and enjoy praise songs and a skit to introduce the bible story for the day. Once large group is over, they return to their classes to learn more about the Bible and how to apply its truths in their lives. A monthly virtue and a weekly bottom line help kids to learn and live the way God desires. Family XFamily X brings the family together for a fun, action packed 45 minutes of singing, skits, and learning truths about God. Family X meets one Sunday a month in the Alcoa High School auditorium at 11:45. For schedule and more information, click here. |
